Copio Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 September 2026

Copio ("Copy it. Say it.") is an English speaking-practice app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with your data.

What stays on your iPhone

Sentences you copy, type or scan, your practice attempts, scores and review schedule are stored on your device (and in your personal iCloud if you turn on iCloud sync). Live speech recognition and the basic voice run on-device.

What is sent to our servers

Requests are relayed through our own server to third-party speech and language providers under their standard data-processing terms. We do not sell data, show ads, or build profiles.

Purchases

Copio Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat), which receives an anonymous app-user ID and purchase receipts to unlock features. We never see your payment details.

Permissions

Microphone and speech recognition: to hear and score your attempt. Camera: only if you scan text. Notifications: optional review reminders. Clipboard: read only when you open the app or tap Paste.

Your choices

Turn off cloud recognition or the online voice in Settings to keep everything on-device. Delete all data in Settings → Delete all. Uninstalling the app removes local data.

Children

Copio is not directed at children under 13.
